PART ONE: ITEMS TO BE CHECKED BEFORE STARTING THE MACHINE

Before I begin about the maintenance & troubleshooting solution for forklift truck. I think is very important to conduct a throughout check of the forklift truck before use so as to obtain satisfactory performance and working safety.


1. Items To Check Before Starting The Engine

Check if the fuel, lubrication oil and cooling water are sufficient for working.

Check if the lubrication parts are ensured with sufficient oil.

Check the air pressure of the tyres (standard: 7kg/cm²).

Check the free turning of the steering wheel (rightwise & leftwise less than 7º respectively).

Check the free stroke of the clutch pedal (standard: 20-25mm).

Check the free stroke of the foot brake pedal (standard: 9-15mm).

Check the electric system, ensure the joints is good and fastened to make circuit closed, and guard against short-circuit.

Check if all the hydraulic system are ensured without leakage.

1.1 Starting The Engine

Put the gear-box handle in middle position (idle position)

The hand-brake must be in working condition

Turn on the master switch, press button of the starter and engine begins to work. The starter must not over 15 seconds continously. After failure in starting, it must be interrupted for 1 or 2 minutes before a second starting.
